ANDY ASKINS

Andy Askins is a diminutive figure who exudes an air of vulnerability as he steps up to the microphone armed with a guitar and a cheeky grin. It’s an overwhelmingly misleading demeanour which serves to heighten the impact of the killer lines that he delivers.

Andy has an expertly crafted routine littered with an eclectic mix of offbeat original comic songs and parodies. A talented musician with a captivating voice, popular songs have been re-written and given a perverse twist to tremendous comic effect. With a wickedly dry sense of humour, Andy’s darker material is sweetened by his innocent and impish demeanour which never fails to leave audiences in the palm of his hand. With impeccable timing, the inventive and quirky songs are peppered with inspired patter – the material is as strong as the songs and delivered in an inimitable modest and self-deprecating style.

Andy has built a reputation as a distinctive and original talent. In his 15 years as full-time comic he has performed with Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, Jason Manford, Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr, Micky Flanagan, Harry Hill, Rhod Gilbert, Bill Bailey and Jack Dee. He has performed at The Edinburgh Festival 2016 and also at the Melbourne Comedy Festival 2018 and Adelaide Comedy Festival 2019.

Robert worked his way up the stand-up scene, starting in 2004 and found early success as a finalist in the prestigious Hackney Empire competition 2006, he has gone from strength to strength and in 2010 won the Malcolm Hardee main award at the Edinburgh Festival.

"He may sound like a niche act, but the musical comedian has managed to garner a wide appeal with his chaotic style and improvised musical skills" – The Sun

Dave Fulton has it all; irony, a sardonic turn of phrase, an amazingly relaxed stage presence and the intelligence to casually riff with the British audiences that have adopted this shaggy American joker.

The Seattle-based comedian has played clubs from San Francisco to New York, and notched up many TV credits ranging from Half Hour Comedy Hour (MTV), ShowTime and An Evening At The Improv (A&E) to a cutting-edge US programme called Comedy Explorers where he was filmed floating down the Grand Canyon. He’s also been seen entertaining crowds as far away as Hong Kong and Cape Town, South Africa.

Dave is opinionated, isn’t afraid to pull punches in his observations, yet has a deceptively laid back stage manner that disguises a raw aggression. A varied melting pot of issues that sometimes even he doesn’t want to explore. This is un-missable comedy from one of the most dynamic and innovative comedians breaking on the comedy circuit at the moment. His mother would never have thought it possible from someone who holds a Masters in Music Composition.

Recent television appearances vary from BBC 2’s The ‘Stand Up Show’ to Channel 5’s ‘The Comedy Store’ on which he took the roof off the prestigious club with his highly inventive perspective on life. You’ll have also spotted Dave on BBC2’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Steve Coogan’s Saxondale.

THE "KING OF CLOWNS"

With an exquisite grasp of the grotesque, Chris Lynam has been feverishly subverting the traditions of the stand-up for more than thirty years. His reputation for unpredictable comic mayhem has propelled him to the four corners of the globe, and viewers and audience attendees here and throughout the world have been aghast and agog at his televised antics and stage performances.

Chris’s wild style of comedy was born just over 45 years ago when he was a schoolboy in Zimbabwe, a country he still visits regularly to apply the finishing touches to a five story log cabin he is building.

His earliest apprenticeship began at the age of fourteen when he spent the summer working in a Luna Park picking up the rudiments of being a clown. There he teamed up with a group of RAF men on their annual holiday, who guided him through the first steps of public performance. Then, when aged twenty he woke one morning and said “I want to be a clown!” he drew on those experiences to get started. From that point on he was hooked to a life in show business.

I’ve done sketch shows on BBC Radio Wales, and various TV comedy and acting roles in both English and Welsh.

I am not a gratuitously rude comic. When I’m on stage I come alive and my goal is to literally cheer everyone up, if I can.

My material is highly original, cerebral, with some wordplay; some people think it’s clever but at the same time it has a wide appeal. I can also perform in my mother tongue, the Welsh language."
